Why Gunite

Concrete, sculpted to your vision.

Gunite is concrete applied pneumatically over an engineered steel skeleton and shaped entirely by hand — which means your pool isn’t chosen from a catalog of shells. Every curve, depth, ledge, and step is designed for your property, your architecture, and how your family actually lives outdoors.

It’s the material luxury pools are built from: structural, permanent, and completely custom. Leo’s Pools designs and builds gunite exclusively for the Oklahoma City metro’s finest homes — luxury pool builders and custom pool construction for Edmond, Nichols Hills, Gaillardia, and beyond.

  • Fully custom shapes & depths
  • Tanning ledges & sun shelves
  • Integrated raised spas
  • Water & fire features
  • Engineered concrete shell
  • Tile, coping & finish freedom

Investment

What a custom gunite pool costs.

Every Leo’s Pools gunite build is priced to its design. Most projects land in one of four tiers, depending on size, add-ons, features, and the elements you request.

  • Tier 1

    $100,000 – $150,000

  • Tier 2

    $150,000 – $200,000

  • Tier 3

    $200,000 – $300,000

  • Tier 4

    $300,000+

Where your project lands depends on size & design, selected features, add-ons, and requested elements — tanning ledges, integrated spas, water and fire features, finishes, and decking all shape the final number. Your consultation includes an exact proposal for your design.

The Build

From design, to dig, to water.

A custom gunite pool is built in deliberate phases, each finished before the next begins — one accountable team from the first sketch to the first swim.

  1. Design

The pool is designed as part of the home and landscape — shape, depths, ledges, spa, materials, and equipment planned before anything breaks ground.

  2. Engineering & Approvals

Structural planning, utility locates, and required permits handled before excavation begins.

  3. The Dig

Precise excavation of the designed shape, with grade and access managed to protect the property.

  4. Steel & Plumbing

The rebar skeleton is tied and plumbing and electrical runs are placed and pressure-tested.

  5. Gunite Shell

The concrete structure is pneumatically applied, shaped by hand, and cured.

  6. Tile, Coping & Decking

Waterline tile, coping, and decking carry the materials of the home to the water’s edge.

  7. Interior Finish

The plaster or aggregate interior is applied, defining the water’s final color.

  8. Fill & Startup

The pool is filled, the equipment is started and balanced, and you’re walked through everything.
